Maddy + Billy were well & truly put through the wringer to get married, but in the end it was all SO worth the wait. The couple cancelled their original Mackay wedding, with the hopes of postponing to a wedding in Greece instead. As time passed, we realized COVID wasn't going anywhere & Greece seemed less and less likely by the day. Everything was put on hold, and we waited on stand-bye to see how things would play out. Eventually, the couple decided they didn't want to wait any longer + were back on the planning train. They found a gorgeous private residence in the lush Currumbin Valley & everything else fell back into place from there.
I was beyond excited when the day finally arrived, and I can only imagine how excited the couple + there loved ones were. They cut their guest numbers down to a super intimate count, and we were lucky that there were no covid restrictions in place on their date! It was an epic moody day, with a gorgeous fresh breeze blowing through the property. Everyone was in high spirits, excited the day was finally here! The boys relaxed and slowly got ready in the dairy. Billy's brother and life long best mate were his groomsman, and his mum and dad were there with us too. Having a small + close group of people get ready with you is such a special experience. It's relaxed, stress-free and oh so memorable.
Maddy and her crew were in the main house, snacking + getting ready. Maddy's mum was in the kitchen, making the cake from scratch (spoiler alert - it was DELISH). That's not all her mum had a hand in. Maddy's dress was handmade by here mum as well. How special!? The ceremony, led by Josh Withers, was authentic & real. The couples vows gave sweet insight into how much & how deeply Maddy + Billy love each other. I'll never get tired how witnessing couples share promises of forever.
The rest of the day was a breeze! We ate great food, survived an absolute deluge of rain & then danced the night away! I hope you love these photos as much as I do!
